Goa Kayaking will participate in the Swimathon
titled "Swim For Earth Day" on the 3rd of April 2011 from 9 AM onwards at the Vainguinim beach, Goa
A distance of 5kms will be completed by 20 swimmers who have been training regularly for the event. The event will be a non-timed event with emphasis on completion rather than positioning. It will be done under the 'Coastal Impact' banner to educate & raise awareness of school children to the condition of the Ocean in general & the Arabian Sea in specific.
All necessary safety arrangements have been made for the event with organizations like "Drishti" providing trained lifeguards & Jet Skis, the Goa Kayaking providing close cover Kayak support while trained paramedics & doctors will also be close at hand at all times to assist in any eventuality.
The Event will be widely covered by National & State Electronic & Print media.
All trained kayakers and families are requested to participate (use our kayaks or bring your own) and show your support for
our fragile environment.
